Wattkopf:
All trails begin at Vogelsruhweg (across from Wattsteigbrückenweg) and continue to Fuchsbauweg above the Kalberklamm hunting lodge, then as follows:
Blue: ca. 8 km
After the hunting lodge, turn right onto Fuchsbauweg for about 50 m, then left directly along the edge of the forest until you reach Grünwettersbacher Weg, which you will follow downhill until you reach Vogelsang car park. Then follow Steigenhohlstraße, Vogelsangstraße, Friedrich Straße and Schöllbrunner Straße back to the starting point. Suggestion: you’ve earned yourself one scoop of ice cream!
Red: ca. 14 km
After the hunting lodge, cross Fuchsbauweg and take the single trail “Grenzweg” until the downhill “Edelbergweg”. Look for the single trail “Gockelsweg” and follow this path till you reach Wattkopf Tower. Then go downhill to the cabin called “Friedrichshütte”, take a right at Bismark Tower and continue into the Vogelsang car park. Finally, follow the blue path to the starting point. Compensation: 2 scoops of ice cream!
Black: ca. 15 km
After the hunting lodge follow the red trail, but take Edelbergweg all the way down to the well “Hedwigsquelle”, then directly onto the challenging ascent through Essigwiesen Ravine and onto Fuchsbauweg till you reach Wattkopf Tower. Continue along the red trail -- at the end you’ve earned 3 scoops of ice cream.
Kreuzelberg Hill:
Blue, red, and black all lead past Horbach Spring onto Panoramaweg until the ascent at Richard-Massinger-Weg (an extension of Wilhelmstraße), then as follows:
Blue: ca. 12.5 km
Take Richard-Massinger-Weg ascent until it turns left towards Spessart and after about 300 m follow the right turn towards Schluttenbach (Pfaffenbrunnenweg) up to Spessart Radio Tower. Be careful crossing the L 613 motorway! Go downhill along Spessart Hauptstraße, across Heuweg and down into the Alb Valley (beware of possible automobile traffic and the steep fall!). In the Alb Valley turn left and follow the winding Graf-Rhena-Weg to the starting point. You can also turn right at the tennis courts,go over the Alb Bridge, and onto the Wattkopf trail.
Red: ca. 17.5 km
Take Richard-Massinger-Weg until you reach Schluttenbach. At Schluttenbach town hall (Rathaus) turn onto Waldstraße towards Rimmelsbacherhof. Past the edge of the forest at the building “Karl-Schöpf-Hütte”, turn left onto Griebenweg towards Schöllbronn. On Schwester-Baptista-Straße, cross theL 613 (carefully!), travel past the cemetery, take Neuroder Straße and then turn left onto Solbrunnenweg and into the “Windwiesen” meadows. After the Windwiesen, follow Forstziehweg down into the Albtal. Turn onto Graf-Rhena-Weg and follow this path back to the starting point. You can also change onto the Wattkopf route at the tennis courts across the Alb Bridge.
Black: ca. 24 km
Take Panoramaweg along the edge of the forest till you reach Oberweier. At the Oberweier water reservoir turn left towards the Karl-Schöpf-Hütte. Go downhill along the edge of the forest into the Moosalb Valley. Caution crossing the L 613! Follow the valley up the trail to Schöllbrunner Mill and cross the K 3553 (Caution!). Continue along Moosablbtalweg until you reach the “Toten-Mann-Stein” (Dead Man’s Rock), then take the single trail left up towards Schöllbrunn until you turn right onto Solbrunnerweg through the “Windwiesen”. Take the single trail to the right down into the Alb Valley, the ascent towards Spessart (Heuweg) at the water treatment plant and then onto “Oberen Tabakmühlenweg” until you reach the starting point. You can also change onto the Wattkopf route at the tennis courts across the Alb Bridge.
